I really enjoyed this book although there was not nearly as much angst as in the first book (No Ordinary Billionaire). This story revolves around the Sinclair brother Jarod, a man tormented by his past, believing that he is responsible for the death of his former girlfriend and best friend whom he discovered cheating on him.
Jarod finds himself drawn to Mara, a small business owner in Amesport and proposes a business deal with her… not for the doll dresses she makes for her struggling doll shop, but for the candies and cakes she makes as a hobby. He believes that’s where her future financial security lies, and he wants to be the one to show her how to make that happen. Of course, Jarod is bound and determined to seduce Mara along the way, and make her his. With the way Mara feels about Jarod that doesn’t take long.
When Mara’s home and shop burn down, Jarod convinces her to move into the guest house next to his home and begin work on her “edible” skills for marketing, with him as her partner. Mara’s big concern is this whole endeavor is that she not be perceived as taking “advantage” of Jarod, so with his much complaining she forces Jarod to put together a business contract ensuring that he would benefit as much as her from the business relationship financially. All the while, Jarod and Mara are burning up the sheets in their new found relationship.
Well, needless to say, with the startup of the new business, Mara having to find her new place in Amesport now that her home has burned down, Jason and Mara trying to settle on what their new sexual relationship means, and the usual happy mix of confusion that follow this clan this made for an enjoyable light hearted read. I’m eager to see what’s to come for brother Evan… the grumpiest brother yet… It’ll defiantly be interesting.

The Forbidden Billionaire The Sinclairs Book 2 is by J. S. Scott. This series is really good and this book continues in that direction.
Jared Sinclair is not happy with his life but doesn’t know what will make him happy. He had come to Amesport, Maine for his brother, Dante, who had been shot and now was staying for Dante’s wedding. He had been coming into town to eat since he was not a cook and if he was in town, he might as well check up on Mara. She lived and worked in a run-down Victorian which at one time belonged to his family. He was entranced by Mara and couldn’t have told you why if you would ask. What was he going to do?
Mara was getting along but knew that her doll making business would fail. It had been doing downhill since her Mother died. However, the rent on the house made it impossible to make any repairs to the house and the owner wasn’t inclined to either. Right now she would put it out of her mind and put her mind to having a good time at the Sinclair wedding.
What will happen when Mara and Jared get together? Then Jared’s older and scarier brother Evan arrives with his secrets. Amesport will never be the same again.
This time it is Mara and Jared’s story that starts with a bang, literally and figuratively, and goes on from there. I enjoy J.S. Scott’s writing however there is a drawback to reading the books one after the other. There are tremendous similarities and repetition that I don’t think would be as noticeable if you read them months apart. Having written that I am most intrigued to read the oldest brother’s story despite promising myself I would wait a while. Needless to say I am hooked and am off to get the next in the series. I have read a lot of reviews that give you blow by blow of the plot I cannot do that, the authors write the blurb far better than I ever could. What I can tell you is the book was very enjoyable well worth the time and money spent 4.5 Stars!
He's consumed with the restlessness his tormented life has become. Jared Sinclair (30), is a handsome testosterone menace with chestnut hair and gorgeously intense green eyes. He's a charming and likable playboy who doesn't do relationships...he runs from emotional entanglements. Then he meets a young, vulnerable woman who throws him off balance and makes him lose his ever present control.

Mara Ross (26) is a curvaceously cute brunette with big brown eyes. She's alone in the world since her mothers' passing. She happily runs the boutique passed down from her mother and g'mother before her, struggling daily to keep it afloat. Mara is a temptress disguised as an angel, who's never had the opportunity to explore her sexuality.

This was a sweet and predictable romance with very little drama and I loved every bit of it. I loved how Jared was stopped in his tracks and brought to his knees by a mere smile from Mara...he unravels and certain body parts take notice of her and stand at attention with astonishing enthusiasm...completely confusing him. He soon realizes he's done for. He's accustomed to women using him for his money and Mara is accustomed to being independent..not wanting or needing anyone. Ms. Scott has a wonderful talent of delivering precise and explicit narrative (and character) details. Description of emotions and feelings are spot on direct and completely, deliriously consuming...propelling the reader...enthralling and engulfing us ..and placing us within the story lines with absolute precision. In little time, you're quite invested emotionally with Jared and Mara. She's soft to his hard- - she's sunshine to his dark. She's innocence to his roughness. And he quickly becomes lost without her. She becomes his reason to plan a tomorrow. Yes, this story [for me] was predictable...it was also brilliant.
I have to say that this book was very disappointing. The whole story was about a billionaire trying to get a lady in bed. The last Billionaire book was a great mystery and had a wonderful story line. This one was awful, wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. A total waste of money and my reading time.
