I like this author a lot and think that his stories are a good addition to the genre. I like the main character and the friends he has made since book 1. I read all three of the trilogy books in pretty short order and would read more by this author. My only (small) complaint is that Tomasso seems to throw crazy situations in just to keep the tension high. Example, - book one included multiple car crashes (4 I think) all on the same day, in a short time span - honestly I think one of the people he was traveling with would have taken over driving after the first or second crash. Or searching places at night when there is a safe place to hide until morning? I don't want to give TOO much away, but some of the situations the group finds itself in are a little obviously manufactured for plot, instead of what I think a group of survivors might actually do.
Still - good story and I recommend it.

Evacuation Vaccination Triology Book 2 eBook Phillip Tomasso Reviews
This followed right where Vaccination left off. This book was a little shorter than I would've liked but that's because I really enjoy long books. But I loved Evacuation and had trouble putting it down. This sequel has just as much action if not more than Vaccination did. I can't wait to read the 3rd book now. Zombie fans, keep up with this series! You'll enjoy it!
Phillip Tomasso is one of my favorite writers & this book certainly didn't disappoint. Vials of swine flu vaccinations are contaminated & and becomes a pandemic. There is a frantic race to get to a safe zone but the way is fraught with horrific danger. If you're looking for a really excellent ZA book, then read this series. I promise you won't regret it! i'm waiting impatiently for the sequel!
Perfect follow-up and flow from the first in the trilogy, Vaccination, as we pick-up with the main characters just as they've been "rescued" by a military group. Comfort and safety prove to be short-lived and the action starts early and just keeps going. I got so engrossed in the story that I was actually surprised when I got to the ending and immediately ordered the third in the series, Preservation, and started reading right away.
Just as the first book was, this one was well-written and really brings you into the story. Excellent read and anxious to finish the third book!
Ok, so the second book had me! Hook, line and sinker. Not missing a beat Mr. Tomasso's story kept the juices flowing. Again, never a dull moment, lots of non-stop action and great insights into the minds of the small band of survivors. The first book brought to this reader a good explanation of how it all starts, book two provided a more in depth look at the characters and just where will book three go ... the wait will just about kill me. I am convinced this author is fast moving up into the ranks of awesome story telling and highly recommend.
I read this during one of the busiest times of the year for me, so I feel like I couldn't give it as much attention as I could the first one. However, I will still do a review. I thoroughly enjoyed Evacuation! From the first pages crossing the O'Rourke Bridge, to the Coast Guard ship, to the military camp, to the J-brothers (I won't spoil it), it was non-stop action. And not all of it was the main characters vs. zombies (although they did heighten the suspense).
I won't lie, though, there is a portion of the book where I ended up in tears. Again, no spoilers, and I was surprised when it happened. Cannot wait for the third book! Thank you for an enjoyable read this Christmas, Phil!
I don't read a lot of zombie literature, yet, I was able to open this book and read it from cover to cover in less than 24 hours. I can't say that for most books. It was interesting with lots of exciting twists, well-developed characters and lots of human emotion. The storyline that the zombies were created by a vaccination gone wrong, also gives it a fresh twist to books of this genre. It was a great read and I am looking forward to book #3 in the trilogy. Even if you've never thought of reading a book of this genre, I encourage you to try this series - you will be pleasantly surprised at how good "Vaccination" and "Evacuation" are.
First of all I enjoy this authors work. His writing style is impressive and I love the non stop action.
That is the only reason I stretched it to 2 stars.
Research is not a bad thing. People do it all the time. But not in this case it seems.
Please, if you get into a U.S. military vehicle and one soldier is holding an AK47, get out! Our military uses
American made weapons! Officers don't take orders from enlisted and NCO's do not tolerate being called sir.
Humvee's are not the only vehicle used by our troops and even they don't have keys. (In a combat situation do you
want to really worry about who has the keys?) Paramedics are not officers, nurses are, as are doctors.
Further, when a person dies, could they stay dead? Unless they become a zombie of course.
Sad to see such potential destroyed due to poor research.
