If you dislike a book written from a dual POV, then you'll hate this book for its written from four or five different POVs. There were times you can't tell immediately who's talking. This gives you more than whiplash. I thought this would be a book with Vishous and Jane as the main characters with the other brothers and their mates making appearances. However, there's Vishous, Jane, Phury, Cormia and John as the main characters. You're given all of their POVs at different times and their roles are as major as Vishous. I was left confused, unhappy and downright angry after reading this book.

Some things made no sense and certainly didn't encourage me to read additional books, especially not at $7.99 a book. This book left me with plenty of unanswered questions with no feeling of satisfaction. What cost did Vishous and Jane pay and why was their cost so high? Nothing was resolved for Phury and Cormia and you're left not really caring what happens with them. John's story has been drawn out entirely too long. I won't read more books hoping Darius would return. Does John or Beth really need him? And, how did the Directrix get away with her actions right under the nose of the Scribe Virgin? The Scribe Virgin is not the end all - there is one more powerful. Yeah, right? How did Vishous' twin get overlooked all this time? Just something to dangle, enticing you to keep reading the series.

After rereading Father Mine, I'm finished with this series unless other books are put on sale. Disappointment describes how I'm left feeling about this book and the series.

Rapture A Novel of the Fallen Angels JR Ward 9780451238016 Books Reviews

I really enjoyed Vishous story. He had a very dark past like others have mentioned there is some disturbing things that he had done however this doesnt make me like him less, in fact it just makes me sympathize more with him. I really like him as a character and i really enjoyed Jane, she is not your typical heroine, she is strong and independent. although the HEA between him and Jane is rather unconventional i really didnt have a problem with it. Sexual tension is HOT and sex scenes were yummy as J.R Ward knows how to write them! definitely recommend
Loved the story about V! However, I feel that he is such a complex and complicated character that his hookup with Jane took on an almost desperate feel about it. Even though I'm glad he finally got to have a relationship with someone, I don't feel like Jane is a good fit for a permanent thing. I would love to see him hookup with Butch, his one true love I think, for just one night of wild, uncontrolled passion between the two of them, now that would be hot! I don't think V or even Butch will be at peace till that happens. There is always going to be that tension between them till it does. Maybe then V could find a truer love than Jane and a better one. Besides, V seems to be a male that always does the unpredictable!
Rhevenge has been a favorite of mine in earlier books. This time, he gets his own story. Loved loved loved it. Elhena's character is very realistic, and the perfect foil in many ways to the series storylines. She's a nurse, a caregiver, and a woman struggling to handle the cards dealt to her with some dignity. She's sensible and strong, but alone. I've known so many women like her. And that's the real appeal of so many characters in this universe. Yes, they're vampires, and yes, most of them are physically jaw-droppingly gorgeous. But they have many of the same problems as the rest of us.

I also thought the tendrils of the next few books were woven in with a skilled hand. Really looking forward to more. Oh yeah, and the sex is terrific.
This just drug out way too long for me. The first couple books in the series were around 400-500 pages and we’re enjoyable. These last couple books have been over 700 pages and the focus skips between so many different peoples lives I’ve had trouble remembering who the main characters are supposed to be. I usually enjoy when side characters are touched on, but this is like 5 stories with only one getting an ending. Other than the multi-story issue & length, I like the authors writing style, so if you enjoy 700-800 page books with multiple stories, this might be a enjoyable read. I’ve already bought the next book 8 about John & Xhex so I will read it, but then I’m done. I’ve read so much in the last couple books about John & Xhex that I feel like I’ve had a whole story on them already & have lost interest but I’ll push through. I just wish the author had stayed with the format from the first books that grabbed readers attention.
